MEET TRACE

UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA KICKER

Trace Rudd is a kicker at the University of Oklahoma. His role demands preparation, consistency, and confidence because the next opportunity can come without warning. 

KANSAS ROOTS

Born and Raised in Overland Park, Trace played at Blue Valley Northwest before continuing his football career at Oklahoma. Family, teammates, coaches, and years of steady work have shaped the person and athlete he is today.

T For 3 is how Trace is building something of his own beyond football. From brand partnerships to the people, places, and interests he wants to share along the way. 

HIS PATH

FROM OVERLAND PARK TO NORMAN

 

Trace’s path to Oklahoma started on the soccer fields of Overland Park. He began playing competitively at six and turned his full attention to football kicking at 14. At Blue Valley Northwest, Trace developed into a five-star specialist with Kohl’s Kicking and earned three-star recognition from 247Sports.


A strong camp performance in Norman in June 2025 opened the door to Oklahoma. Trace committed to the Sooners and later signed, turning years of work into an opportunity to compete at the next level.


Now at Oklahoma, he is learning what it takes to perform in college football, adjusting to the speed, competing every day, and learning from veteran teammates. The NFL remains the goal, but the focus stays on the next rep, the next opportunity, and being ready when called.

READY IS BUILT EVERY DAY

For a kicker, the moment can come without warning. Trace treats practice, lifting, recovery, film, and the details away from the field as part of the same job. The goal is to earn trust through the work and be prepared when the team needs him. 

MORE THAN THE UNIFORM

 

Football is a major part of Trace’s life, but not all of it. Away from the field, he is usually with family and friends, finding somewhere good to eat, listening to music, playing video games, or talking cars and trucks.


Those parts of his life keep him grounded and let people know the person behind the uniform.
